Our Purpose
Zakat is not just any charity. Its amount is prescribed, and how it is spent is prescribed — to build strong, healthy and flourishing Muslim communities.
New Zealand Zakat Foundation (NZZF) facilitates Zakat distribution in Aotearoa New Zealand, ensuring every eligible category (asnaf) is supported. We prioritise supporting New Zealanders in need through confidential, dignified, and secure distribution that uplifts both recipients and our wider community.
We also recognise the pressing need to uplift Muslims worldwide. That’s why we’ve partnered with Muslim Aid Australia (MAA) to ensure we meet our obligations to our Muslim neighbours and our brothers and sisters worldwide.
Our purpose is to fulfil our duty as Muslims and strengthen and uplift the New Zealand Muslim community by collecting and distributing Zakat locally — with integrity, transparency, and dignity.
