If you’re facing financial hardship, debt, housing insecurity, or personal crisis, the New Zealand Zakat Foundation may be able to help.

Our assistance is funded through Zakat and Sadaqah — given by Muslims across Aotearoa who care about their community and want to support those in need.
Asking for help is never a weakness — it’s part of how our Ummah stays connected and strong.

Who We Support

We assist eligible Muslims across New Zealand who are experiencing genuine hardship, including:

Families struggling to cover rent, bills, or essentials.
Single mothers, widows, and new Muslims without family support.
Victims of domestic violence or sudden crisis.
Individuals in debt or unable to meet basic living costs.
Students or individuals facing short-term financial difficulty.

2. Our team reviews your request

We may contact you for additional information or documents.

3. Decision is Reached

If approved, support may be provided through direct financial aid, bill payment, food or essentials assistance, or referrals to trusted community services.

Before you begin: Please ensure you are currently residing in New Zealand, Identify as Muslim and can provide basic documentation (e.g. ID, proof of income, or bills). If you’re unsure about your eligibility, you can still submit the form — our team will review your situation and advise you accordingly.
